I’m a big fan of “imbricate.”
Imbricate is lovely and tricky. I stopped using it once I discovered that many academics actively dislike it. Much like “subvert” for me. I cross it out when students use it in their papers. But I also cross out “just” when used as an adverb. It’s clunky.
Hope your semester is ending well.
