We have snakes in the house.
Every few days, we find a tiny baby snake crawling around in the kitchen or living room. We do not know where they are coming from. We do not know where their parents are. We are not yet quite sure what they are, though my sister claims they are harmless garden snakes.
The neighbors also have snakes.
A story is doing the rounds.
A white man used to live in the neighborhood prior to independence. He kept snakes. When independence came, he released the snakes and left the country.
One wonders why it took 45 years for the snakes to become a widespread problem.
