Storymoja Presents . . .

*For those in Kenya

Please join Storymoja on a unique and exciting theatrical adventure on Saturday 15th May and Sunday 16th May – a musical stage show, THE MATATU FROM WATAMU DROVE INTO THE SEA. It will be held at the renovated Sarakasi Dome (formerly Shan cinema) on Ngara Road. Parking is free and safe!

What happens when a keen and patriotic KWS warden teaches a matatu driver how to scuba dive?

When he looks under the sea, all the matatu driver sees are… fish swimming for free! “Fish swimming for free,” he exclaims, “what an opportunity for a keen entrepreneur, ahem, like me!”

And so the Rasta driver launches his bling-bling mathree into the sea and hires an octopus tout to Beba beba! Beba beba! But ‘typical’ matatu behaviour upsets sea creatures of every shape and size, and they come up with a plot to teach the Rasta driver an environmental and moral lesson.

Eh, did somebody say shark?

Wawa! DID SOMEBODY SAY SHARK?

THE MATATU FROM WATAMU THAT DROVE INTO THE SEA is a Storymoja Storyhippo production, script written by Muthoni Muchemi, show directed by Keith Pearson and choreographed by Lilian Amimo Olembo. Seriously hot original music by David Ohingo and Sakata Media…bet you’ll be singing along during the show! Please bring yourselves and your kids and nephews and nieces and friends and more. Like ‘The Lion King,’ it is a show for all ages.

Mark the dates: Sat 15th May and Sunday 16th May. Shows at 1:30 pm and 5:30pm on both days. Each show lasts just under two hours.
